Nutrient Loaded Porridge

Prep notes: Soak Porridge with Seeds in 1/2 Cup of Water overnight using a saucepan
Cooking time: 5 – 15 minutes
This breakfast is easy to make, contains a good portion of Proteins, Complex Carbohydrates and Essential Fats. It’s healthy and should keep all but the most ravenous going until lunch. Ingredients are for 1 serving.
- 70g Porridge Oaks (I prefer Flahavans Jumbo Oats)
- 1 Tbsp Pumpkin Seeds
- 100ml Milk – Soy / Oat / Almond / Dairy. Add just enough to get the desired consistency of the porridge
- 1 Tbsp Udo’s / Flax Oil
- 4 – 6 Strawberries – washed and chopped
- A dash of cinnamon for added flavour
After soaking, drain and rinse the Porridge and Seeds using a sieve.
Return the Porridge to saucepan and add 50ml of water.
Heat on medium heat for 5 – 10 minutes. Stir regularly until the Porridge reaches desired consistency. Add water if it gets a little too thick.
Remove from heat and place Porridge in a bowl.
Add Berries, Cinnamon, Oil and Milk.
Stir well and enjoy!
